We have all heard "if you know, you know", and no one knows or understands more about being a foster parent than another foster parent. It sounds so logical but any foster parent that has confided in a non-foster parent most likely walked away from the conversation feeling a bit unseen and unheard, and definitelynot understood. This support group creates a safe, welcoming environment where foster parents can share experiences without judgement and can learn more about community resources that are available to support them as they stand in the gap. Let's reduce isolation and create our own felt-safety by coming together and supporting one another in guided discussions and support.
The 3rd Tuesday of each month starting at 6:30pm
117 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. (Offices of Mission 1613)
Steps of Hope is a bi-weekly outdoor walking group designed to support mental wellness through movement, connection, and community. This program provides a safe, welcoming space where individuals can engage in light physical activity while building supportive relationships and reducing feelings of isolation. Participants benefit from structured yet flexible walks that encourage conversation, stress relief, and emotional support in a non-clinical setting. The program is inclusive of individuals at all stages of their mental health journey, including caregivers and those seeking preventative wellness support.
By combining physical activity with peer connection, Steps of Hope promotes improved mood, increased resilience, and a greater sense of belonging- helping participants take meaningful steps toward healing and hope.
